Solanum surattense is a very common plant and it has a plethora of uses

Solanum surattense 

Habit:
  Small tree
Description: Leaves are simple; possesses thorns which are in white color, fruits are green at young age, but developed fruits are yellow and seeds are in abundance, it possesses purple flowers 
Family: Solanaceae
Useful parts: Whole plant
Medicinal uses: Cures earache, swelling, skin diseases, breathing problems, toothache, fever, asthma and reduces white hair
Dosage: The whole plant is burned and the powder is mixed with dry ginger; it is used for breathing problems
Fruit pieces are boiled with oil which is used for earache and skin diseases
Fruits which are burning in fire are smoked with the mouth; then keep the mouth closed for some time when suffering from toothache
Root powder is mixed with two cups of water, half spoon of this is used for fever
Fruit juice is applied on white hair to make it black
Root paste is applied on swollen parts of the body

Chemical constituents: Solanocarprine, β-Solamargine, solanine, solanomargine, carpesterol, glycosides, carbohydrates, fatty acids and amino acids

Side-effects: Care should be taken while using it for pitta disorder due to its hot potency, over dosage might cause poisoning, must consult physician before taking internally
